For decades, Seiko Japan contracted out the manufacturing of its shavers to a respected Japanese private-label shaver manufacturer — a company founded in 1939 that has been crafting shavers since 1956.

The Heritage: From Seiko Japan to Cleancut™

In late 2007, Seiko Japan decided to close its shaver division as part of a corporate restructuring. Seiko then sold its design rights and transferred the trademarked name Cleancut™ to that very same original contract manufacturer.

Today, Cleancut™ products are simply labelled Cleancut™ on the barrel, yet they continue to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and technique — the same craftsmanship that built the brand's reputation.
